Wraysbury Bowls Club -

Our year 2014

Another success

And lo it came to pass that our club's entry into the St Andrew's Wraysbury Christmas Tree Festival was voted top of the Adult Class - and yes, beating the Tennis Club!
Thanks must go to Val Lambert for the idea of Walking In The Air (The Snowman) theme and dressing the tree, assisted by Hilary. Well done!

Season ends with a win in a home friendly with Parkside BC
A very enjoyable game against our friends from Eastleigh was played in pretty warm conditions for this time of year and we managed to reverse our fortunes from the away fixture in April.
Wraysbury achieved a 56-44 points win, coming out on top on two of the three rinks.
A post-match buffet was held at the Village Club which made it a very social occasion to end the day.

Club Finals
Sarah Jane & Andy D took the Mixed Pairs title winning against Julia & Mike.
The Ladies final was won by Yvonne, and the Men's saw Derek take the honours.

(More details, see Club Championships)

Memorial Day
Well done to Sarah Jane and Eddie who won the trophy, beating Yvonne and Harold
by 3 shots to 2 in the final.
It was another successful event, with good weather and well supported.

The men's team secure their place in KLX Div 2 East
A good win against M'head Thicket in our final KLX game of the season made sure of our place in Div 2 East for next year.
See KLX League page for full details and teams for next season

Our mixed triples end C&T season on a high
A clean sweep of rinks gave Wraysbury a 10-0 points win in the final C&T league match against Osterley at home, with a 90-21 score.
That followed a 6-4 home victory against the mighty Rosedale winning the match by two shots. Our top rink of Yvonne, Gregg and Andy D had a too big a margin despite the visitors taking the other two rinks.

The rink goes under water for a second time

After getting back to playing again following the floods in January, our rink was covered with water again following the latest Wraysbury flood disaster in February.
This time, however, the water got into the clubhouse. Only minor damage.

Thanks to Sport England's Lottery Fund our rink has been fully restored.

New outside clock
A new timepiece was put in, adorning the top of the clubhouse - thanks must go to Harold Hutt for donating the clock.
